Uploading Files
CaiaSoft® includes options for uploading files to support operations or manage the inventory at rest. Default file layouts can be found under Administration -->Browse & Edit Data Tables -->File Layouts
Accession
Create an Address
With CaiaStacks™, the companion data collection app for CaiaSoft®, it is unlikely you will need to upload address files of any kind. If your site is still using old-school devices like PDTs for remote data collection in the storage area, you can upload your data directly to CaiaSoft® without having to SFTP or use any other 3rd-party support software.
Click Upload File from Mobile --> Click Browse --> Locate mobile device in File Explorer --> Click Upload File
Link Containers to Address Container or Item Link to Address data can also be loaded into CaiaSoft via file input.
On the Accession dashboard, click Link to an Address
Select the Link to Address option for the Accession type, ex. Items in Container (IIC) or Direct to Address (DTA)
Click Upload File from Mobile --> Click Browse --> Locate mobile in File Explorer --> Click Upload File
Accession Stream File
An Incoming Accession Stream (IAS) can be loaded via Caia's API or as needed/on-demand. On the Accession dashboard, click Accession Stream File
Select the File Format from the drop down list. Click Browse to find and select the file. Collection and Material types for each item can be included in the uploaded file. Depending on the file source, however, it may not always be possible to assign Collection/Material types. In such cases, these characteristics can be assigned at the point of file upload by selecting them from the drop down lists before sunding the data.
Once the File Format and source are selected, and any Collection/Material assignments made, click Upload. The uploaded data will be written to a new Incoming Accession Stream which is displayed in the Accession Job Queue.
